Pre-tour Highlight: A Hike With Congressman Curtis (June 2022)

As I start my tour tomorrow, my thoughts reflect upon how we plan to will focus on listening and constructive engagement with Utah’s communities. A recent successful example of effective listening and engagement that inspired me occured back in June. Citizen’s Climate Lobby of Utah volunteers gathered in the Uinta mountains/foothills and spent a half of day hiking and conversing with Congressman John Curtis (District 3, Utah). We discussed ideas of all sorts regarding energy diversification, fire management, drought, challenges/opportunities on economy and climate. And, because Rep. Curtis was respectful, thoughtful, and engaged, we listened, discussed, and kept an open mind. The discussion was productive and we all parted with positive energy. It snowed of course.
